The Coulee Region Chill are on fire.

They capped a perfect three-game weekend with their fifth consecutive victory Saturday at Green Island Ice Arena, as Jacon Schmidt-Svejstrup's overtime goal clinched a 4-3 win over Springfield. The Chill now boast a four-point lead over the fifth-place Junior Blues for the Midwest Division's fourth and final playoff spot.

Saturday was a back-and-forth affair.

Isaac Theisen opened the scoring with his 16th goal at 4:32 of the first period, assisted by Justin Kendall and Kevin Dineen. Shay Donovan later made it 2-1 for the Chill just over seven minutes after Springfield's first equalizer.

A flurry of third-period goals sent both teams into overtime knotted at 3. Jordan Muzillo made it 2-2 on the power play at 8:48, followed just 41 seconds later by a go-ahead marker from Caleb Schroer, his 22nd goal of the year. Then, Zachary Tyson buried the Junior Blues' third equalizer just 30 seconds later, making it 3-3 at 9:59.

Schmidt-Svejstrup's game-winner was his eighth goal of the campaign, with Marshal Plunkett and Joey Sofo providing assists. Coulee Region also benefitted from Joe Marcoullier's 41-save performance.

The Chill travel to Janesville for a 7 p.m. game Thursday.
