Caledonia High School senior Owen King is in the middle of preparation for an MSHSL Class AA state football quarterfinal game against Minneapolis North, but he took time to make official a future plan on Wednesday.

King signed his National Letter of Intent to join the Division I South Dakota State basketball program after graduating from Caledonia.

King, the quarterback of Caledonia's top-ranked and undefeated football team (12-0), averaged 19.1 points, 6.1 assists, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game for the Warriors as a junior. He takes 1,925 career points, 594 career assists, 315 career 3-pointers and 266 career steals into his senior basketball season.

Caledonia is 110-16 with King on the basketball team and 38-0 since he took over starting quarterback on the football team.
