NOTEWORTHY: Holmen has a chance at the MVC championship, but it has to win this game and get an Onalaska win over West Salem to tie for it. … The Vikings will rely, as they have all season, on RBs Drew Becker (108-1,283, 16) and Mitchell Torud (148-767, 12). … The Spartans have lost three in a four and four of five. … Sparta has to win this game for a chance at a second straight playoff appearance.

Central (4-4, 3-3) at Tomah (3-5, 1-5)

MVC SERIES: The Red Raiders lead 17-11 and have won four of the last five meetings with the Timberwolves getting a win two years ago

NOTEWORTHY: Central needs a win to assure itself a playoff spot, but it still has a chance to qualify with a loss. … The Red Raiders are led by sophomore QB Johnny Davis (124-252-1,872, 17-6) left Saturday’s loss to Onalaska, but coach Tony Servais expects him to play. … Senior Greg Kohler (47-660, 8) was held to 3 catches for 1 yard against the Hilltoppers, so he is looking to bounce back.

Ind./Gil. (8-0, 5-0) at Melrose-Mindoro (7-1, 5-0)

NOTEWORTHY: This is for the outright Dairyland Conference championship, and the Mustangs have won 14 straight conference games. … Senior RB Jeremy Anderson (63-798, 16) has been on a tear with 564 yards and 13 TDs in the last four games for the Mustangs. … Melrose-Mindoro has allowed 1,025 yards this season, and 360 of them came in a season-opening loss to unbeaten and state-ranked Bangor.
