Caledonia’s Owen King earned the Tribune's player of the year award after passing for 2,839 yards and 45 TDs with just four interceptions his senior season. Caledonia went 13-0 and won its third consecutive Class AA state title this past season.

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Caledonia High School football team leads Pipestone 50-6 after three quarters of the MSHSL Class AA state championship game at U.S. Bank Stadium today.

Senior quarterback Owen King has passed for five touchdowns -- three to Sam Barthel -- and rushed for another score for the Warriors (12-0), who are trying to win their third straight championship.

King has passed for 248 yards and rushed for 37. Marten Morem has two interceptions for Caledonia and returned one of them 20 yards to give his team a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Arrows (12-1) have run 32 plays and gained minus 9 yards. The touchdown came on a throw back across the field on a kickoff return to cut Caledonia's lead to 12-6.
