STEWARTVILLE, Minn. — Senior Emma Gamoke made three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Onalaska High School girls basketball team to a 61-57 victory over Stewartville on Saturday.
Gamoke’s 17 points led four double-figure scores for the Hilltoppers (2-1), who rebounded from a loss to Chippewa Falls on Tuesday.
Sophomore Kenzie Miller added 14 points and sophomore Lexi Miller 13 points and nine rebounds for Onalaska, which plays at West Salem on Tuesday and hosts Westby on Friday.
Freshman Olivia Gamoke scored 10 points for Onalaska.
Nonconference: Onalaska 5, Baraboo/Portage 3
ONALASKA — The Hilltoppers (2-0) scored three goals in the second period to get a nonconference victory at the OmniCenter.
Sophomore CJ Lass had two goals for Onalaska, which also received two assists from senior Boris Kacer and one goal and one assist from junior Ryan Gargaro.
Jack Weber stopped 18 shots in goal for the Hilltoppers, who received goals from Tommy Duren, Gargaro and Lass in the second period to take a 4-2 lead to the third. Andrew Walz also scored for Onalaska.
Nonconference: Onalaska co-op 3, Metro Lynx 1
MADISON — Senior Maria McHugh, junior Sascha Cromheecke and sophomore Jaidyn Groshek scored for the Hilltoppers (2-0), who received 26 stops in goal from senior Claire Bekkum.
Groshek also had two assists to run her season total to five for Onalaska, which plays at Eau Claire on Thursday.
