HOLMEN — Conley Malone scored 25 points, and teammate Randy Jacobson added 20 as the Aquinas High School boys basketball team picked up an 80-70 win over Holmen on Thursday night.
The Blugolds (7-4, 2-2) outscored the Vikings (2-3, 5-7) by 10 points in the first half before the teams played even in a game that was completed after the Tribune's deadline was moved up to accommodate delivery in inclement weather.
Malone, a senior guard, is averaging 22.2 points over his last four games and 19.6 ppg for the season. Aquinas, which plays Spring Grove at the Midwest Players Classic on Saturday, has won three of its last four.
Jacobson, also a senior, added 15 rebounds to his stat line. Brandon Merfeld added 16 points and Gavin Wetzel 11 for the Blugolds.
Holmen was led by senior Craig Newsome's 22 points. Sawyer Phillips added 11 and Robert Hart 10 for the Vikings.

Aquinas pulled off two MVC victories to emerge victories at the Logan fieldhouse. The Blugolds beat Onalaska/Logan 51-24 to open the event and downed the Logan/Central co-op 39-32 to close it.
Carson Haag (126 pounds), Albert Flottmeyer (132), Andrew Topolski (170 and 182), Peter Riley (195) and Jack Horihan (220 and 285) all won twice for Aquinas.
Horihan improved to 17-2 and posted a big 8-7 win over L/C's Robert Snodgrass after moving up to 285.
Logan/Central beat Onalaska/Luther 67-12 in the middle dual.
