The Holmen High School wrestling team has moved up two spots to the No. 1 position in Division 1 team state rankings released by Wisconsin Wrestling Online Thursday.

The Vikings jumped ahead of previous No. 1 Kaukauna and No. 2 Stoughton, who dropped to No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Prairie du Chien/Wauzeka maintained its No. 4 spot, Melrose-Mindoro/G-E-T moved up from No. 6 to No. 5, and Viroqua continues to earn honorable mention in Division 2.

Sparta’s Jon Bailey (126) is the lone local wrestler ranked first in Division 1, but Sparta’s Hayden Krein (160) and Holmen’s Isaac Lahr (182) and Jack Westcott (220) are second.

Division 2 wrestlers ranked first in their weight classes are: Viroqua’s Ryan Hannah (145) and Tyler Hannah (170). Melrose-Mindoro/G-E-T’s Julian Purney (126) and Prairie du Chien/Wauzeka’s Stephen Ronnfeldt (195) are second.
