GREEN BAY -- The Aquinas High School girls basketball team advanced to the WIAA Division 4 state championship game by beating Crandon 75-38 Thursday in the first of two semifinals at the Resch Center.

The top-ranked Blugolds (27-0) held a 43-19 lead by halftime and were led by sophomores Lexi Donarski and Taylor Theusch with 13 points apiece. Donarski scored 11 of her 13 in the second half, and Theusch scored all of her in the first half.

The Cardinals (22-3) had 17 turnovers in the first half and 29 in the game.

Seniors Madessa Collins and Kyah Steiner added 12 points and sophomore Courtney Becker 10 for the Blugolds, whose last loss was to Howards Grove in last year's title game.

Aquinas plays either Melrose-Mindoro (26-0) or Manitowoc Lutheran (21-4) in Saturday's 12:45 p.m. championship game.
