WEST SALEM — Mike Carlson took the lead with 10 laps left and held off his father, Steve, to win the 25-lap Tobacco Outlet Plus Grocery Late Model feature Saturday night at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway.
West Salem's Nick Clements led the first 15 laps before engine trouble ended his night. Mike Carlson immediately took over first place and maintained it for his first win of the season.
Steve Carlson was second and Tony Leis third. Jesse Pokszyk (fourth) and Brad Powell (fifth) rounded out the top five.
Sparta's Brad Warthan won the Dean's Satellite Sportsmen feature over Chaseburg's Randy Humfeld and New Prague's Adam Oxborough. Justin Berg led early before fading and finishing fifth.
Adam Moore crossed the finish line second in the Auto Value Thunderstox feature, but a post-race disqualification for Tomah's Bill Schott made Moore the winner. Schott won after leading the entire 15 laps before the DQ.
