WARRENS — Jane E. Seflow, 87, of Warrens passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at her daughters home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1930, on the Nemitz family farm to Ben and Bertha Nemitz. Jane was a 1947 graduate of Black River Falls High School. Following graduation, Jane held numerous jobs at the Seashell souvenir shop in Kirby, at Fort McCoy, and most recently at the Tomah Memorial Hospital, as a housekeeper where she retired after 20 years. Jane was united in marriage to Gilbert “Gib” Seflow March 18, 1950.
Jane remained active on the family farm and enjoyed spending her time gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She was always up for taking countryside car rides and finding adventures with her family. Jane loved to go to the casino and play cards, and always looked forward to her weekly hair appointments. Her family was extremely important to her and she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Debra (Harry) DeLong and Shelly (Keith) Betthauser; grandchildren, Ona (Kevin) Pollack, Mandy (Mark) Pergande, Brad (April) Betthauser and Lindsey Betthauser; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kendyll and Kadin Pollack and Hadley Betthauser; great-great-grandchildren, Carter and Hayden Pollack; brothers, Kenneth and Gary (Carol) Nemitz; sisters-in-law, Delores, MaryLou and Bev Nemitz. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert “Gib” in 2014; her parents; her daughter, Vicky Seflow; her son, Ricky Seflow; grandchild, Adriane Betthauser; brothers, Junior, Virgil, Gerald, Harold, and Ronald Nemitz; and sisters, Florence Kent and Agnes Harleson.
Funeral services will be held at noon today, Nov. 6, at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kirby. Burial will follow in the Warren Mills Cemetery, Warrens. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service today at the church.
