CAMP DOUGLAS — Leo J. Snider, 89, of Camp Douglas died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2017, at the Mayo Hospital in La Crosse.

He was born Dec. 24, 1927, to Harry and Rebah (McCollough) Snider on the farm in Oakdale. He attended the Brookdale Country School. Leo loved to farm. He farmed in the Oakdale Community his entire life and finally quit milking when he was 80 years old. He was the co-owner and operator of the Central Wisconsin Building Supply, and hauled milk to the Oakdale Creamery and the Union Center Creamery. He enjoyed collecting MSP Moline tractors, visiting with his friends over coffee at the Greenwood Café. Leo was one in a million. He had a kind heart and was willing to help anyone. This was demonstrated best by helping his close friend and neighbor for many years. He was a loving partner to Sue, a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

He is survived by his life partner of 26 years, Sue; three children, Sharon Bauman of Tomah, Jeff and Gary Snider, both of Tomah, five kids, Ashley and Becky Martin, Darren (Danielle) Martin, Tracy (Wayne) Billups, and Wendy (Hector) Cruz; grandchildren, Kimberly (friend. Al Hickey) Hericks, Jason (Rebecca) Bauman, Angela Snider, Jill Snider, and Michael (fiancé, Danielle) Snider, Kenneth, Noah, and Aubrey Martin, Jayla and Levi Billups, Manuel and Odessa Cruz; great-grandchildren, Leo, Kayla, Katelyn, Zachery, and Adella; a great-great-grandson, Tallan; many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers, Ralph (Ferdonna), Dale (Mary), Donald (Margaret) and Gordon (Laura).

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Pastor Jeffrey Ruetten. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
