KENDALL — Ralph C. Roddel, 70, of rural Kendall passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018, at his home.
He was born Feb. 13, 1947, to Everett and Carrie (Nelson) Roddel on Mc Caul Street in Tomah.
Ralph married Mary Maier Sept. 2, 1972, in Waunakee, Wis. He was an avid deer hunter, he enjoyed being outdoors during both bow and rifle season. He was a member of the Clifton Sportsman’s Club, NWTF and Camp Douglas American Legion Post #133. Ralph was also active as an EMT in Necedah, Wis., and Oregon, Wis. While living in Oregon, he was a member of the Jaycees. He was a longtime member of Fountain Lutheran Church, serving as a superintendent of the Sunday school program for many years. Since December of 2017, he had been a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Tomah.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Margaret “Meg” (Dan) Meseberg and Sara (James Stout) Roddel; grandchildren, Daniel and Graecyn Meseberg; sisters, Mary Jane Roddel and Anna Stafford; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Carrie; a brother-in-law, Mike Stafford; father-in-law, Norbert Maier; along with many other aunts and uncles.
Memorial services with full military honors by Camp Douglas American Legion Post #133 will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Pastor Mark Benning will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
