Good spirits abound at Tomah High School.
Amy Ritter, THS Spanish teacher, student council advisor and homecoming week coordinator, said everyone at the school is in good spirits during homecoming week.
It’s what Ritter enjoys most about the event.
“Kids have been working hard. There’s a good vibe in the high school,” she said. “(I love) the amount of spirit that the kids have in school; it’s my favorite part. I like seeing the kids participate in dress-up days and, in general, have a good time during the week. It’s nice to see.”
A few changes have been made to homecoming week this year, Ritter said.
Some of the forms students need to participate in events are now available online, and the school has added distinguished alumni to the parade and pep rally on Friday.
The girls powder puff football game has also been moved from Thursday to Monday at 7 p.m. or 20 minutes after the junior varsity football game at E.J. McKean Field. The switch was made due to conflicts with cross country, soccer and volleyball matches on Thursday.
Also new is the DJ from Madison who will play at the homecoming dance Saturday.
