Tomah’s city-wide trick-or-treating hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The Tomah Police Department encourages people who want to participate to leave an outdoor light on for children between those hours and to give out only wrapped candy.

It also wants to remind children to stay within their neighborhood, take all treats home before consuming and carry a flashlight for use after the sun goes down.

Young children should also be accompanied by a parent or older, responsible person during their “treating” rounds, according to local police, and wear light-colored clothing or reflective tape that can be seen after dark.
