Chuck Heiting

Nature photographer Chuck Heiting’s work will be display at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge.

The photographic artwork of Wisconsin artist Chuck Heiting will be on exhibit at the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge starting Saturday, Nov. 4 and running through Nov. 30.

Friends of Necedah NWR will host an opening reception with the artist on Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the visitors center, N11385 Headquarters Road. Light refreshments will be served. The event, which will feature Heiting’s work, is free and open to the public.

Raised in central Wisconsin, Heiting developed an early interest in wildlife and spent many hours exploring woodlots and pastures of the area. He describes himself as an avid hunter with or without a camera. The majority of his work captures animals and birds from Wisconsin, but he also has made multiple trips to Alaska and Africa.

In recent years his award-winning photos have been published on calendars and note cards and in magazines. For more details, call the refuge office at 608-565-2551.
