The Tomah High School wrestling team produced two champions and several more high placewinners at the Tomah Scramble Saturday at Tomah High School.
Dawson Lambert (120 pounds) and Nate Boutlon (126) won championships, while the Timberwolves finished third in the 16-team field.
Lambert won his eight-wrestler draw with a pin, a technical fall and a 5-2 decision over second-place Brandon Jesse of Baraboo. Lambert improved to 10-1, while Jesse fell to 10-2.
Boulton prevailed in a loaded bracket. He opened with a 12-1 major decision over Caiden Buehler (5-2) of West Salem/Bangor and later defeated Baraboo’s Eli Davidson 7-2. Davidson had won 11 matches without a loss before facing Boulton, who improved to 10-1.
Marques Fritsche took second for the Timberwolves at 160 thanks to an overtime pin of Lancaster’s Owen Wolf. Fritsche’s only loss was a 28-10 technical fall to undefeated Zach Schneider of Caledonia.
Braden Bemis (126), Owen Walters (138) and Travis Von Haden (152) finished third.
Bemis won two of four matches with a pin and 14-7 decision. He was pinned by two wreslters with a combined 22-1 record.
Walters won an overtime decision over Tristan Grant of Cashton before getting pinned by Pablo Ramirez (11-1) of Baraboo.
Von Haden claimed third place by pinning Malakai Ringelstetter of Baraboo.
Other Tomah placewinners were:

- 145—Dakota Myers, 12th.
- 170—Jairon Pierce, 10th.
- 182—Connor Von Haden, sixth.
- 195—Kaden Hericks, sixth.
- 220—Angel Burkhalter, fourth.
- 285—Hayden Larson, seventh.
The Timberwolves filled every weight class except 113. First-place Lancaster was the only team to fill all 14 weights.

The Timberwolves return to action Thursday with a Mississippi Valley Conference match against La Crosse Central/La Crosse Logan. Junior varsity matches start at 6:15 p.m. followed by the varsity at 7:15 p.m. Two days later, the Timberwolves travel to the Richland Center Invitational.
