The Tomah High School boys varsity reserve basketball team unloaded for 37 points in the second half to defeat La Crosse Central in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest Tuesday at Tomah High School.
Central led 34-29 at halftime before the Timberwolves got hot in the second half.
Three Tomah players reached double figures. Kale Gnewikow led the way with 17 points. He made four field goals and was nine of 13 from the foul line.
Charlie Ella scored 13 points, 10 of which came after halftime. He made a pair of 3-pointers.
Isaiah Nick scored 12 and was three of four from the foul line.
Rounding out Tomah’s scoring were Jalen Figgins with eight, Justin Gerke with six, Avyon Adams with five, Carson Lindauer with three and Tyler Torkelson with two.
Nine different players scored for Central.
The Red Raiders made eight 3-piointers but went to the foul line just four times after intermission..
Coach Thomas Tardiff’s team returns to action Tuesday, Feb. 6 with a home contest against Sparta starting at 4:15 p.m. in the Tomah High School main gym.
