Tomah High School will honor its wrestling legacy Thursday with the dedication of its new Honor Board.
The board will be unveiled between the junior varsity and varsity matches against La Crosse Central/La Crosse Logan at approximately 7 p.m. It lists every Tomah wrestler who has qualified to compete at the state wrestling tournament.
“The state qualifier board represents the history of wrestling in Tomah and the hard work and sacrifice it takes to get to the state tournament,” Tomah wrestling coach Jeff Von Haden said. “Hopefully it will help drive and inspire incoming wrestlers to work hard and fulfill their hopes and dreams of reaching the state tournament.”
Von Haden said the names on the board represent more than just the athletes who wrestled at state.
“They also represent the countless other people who helped them get there,” Von Haden said. “These people include teammates, practice partners, coaches and parents who were with them on the journey to the state tournament.”
There will be a reception in the high school commons following the varsity match.
