Tomah’s defense was good, but goal scoring was a problem.

The Timberwolves scored just one goal over their last two games during a pair of boys high school hockey setback. Tomah dropped a 5-0 Mississippi Valley Conference decision at Onalaska Thursday and was defeated 3-1 at Amery Saturday.

Tomah’s overall record fell to 4-10-1.

The Timberwolves launched 21 shots on goal at Onalaska but couldn’t score against a team that had already posted three shutouts.

Dalton Prielipp, assisted by Jagger Hammer, scored an early goal at Amery to give Tomah a 1-0 lead, but Amery scored two goals within a 20-second span late in the period to gain the advantage.

Tomah goalie Sam Peterson made 34 saves, and the Timberwolves were outshot 37-17.

After Tuesday’s MVC contest at La Crosse Aquinas/Holmen, the Timberwolves return to the Tomah Ice Center Thursday to host West Salem in a nonconference matchup starting at 7 p.m.
