The Tomah High School girls varsity reserve basketball team has a two-game winning streak.

Coach Hailey Brown’s team defeated La Crosse 43-24 in a Mississippi Valley Conference contest Dec. 15 and followed up with a 48-13 nonconference win over Mauston Tuesday.

Tomah improved its overall record to 3-6 and MVC mark to 1-2.

Ella Plueger drilled a pair of 3-pointers and scored 12 points at Logan. Alyssa Whaley scored 10 and Shani Tiber added six. The Timberwolves led 17-11 at halftime before pulling away in the second half.

Ruth Schwichtenberg scored 14 points to lead Tomah over Mauston. Whaley scored eight, and Lexi Spiers contributed six.

The Timberwolves’ next contest is Wednesday, Dec. 27 against Melrose-Mindoro in the first round of the West Salem Tournament. Tipoff is 7 p.m. at West Salem Elementary School.
