Travis Von Haden got the tough draw against Mauston but made up for it at Wausau Saturday.
Von Haden posted a 5-0 record to lead the Tomah High School wrestling team at the Wausau West Duals. The Timberwolves defeated DeForest, Wittenberg-Birnamwood and Spencer/Marshfield Columbus while losing to Holmen and Sauk Prairie.
Tomah boosted its dual record to 4-2.
Von Haden, who wrestles at 152 pounds, was one of just two Tomah wrestlers to lose during the dual opener against Mauston Nov. 30, when he was defeated by Teagan Miller, a defending Division 2 sectional champion. Von Haden responded by winning all four of his contested matches at Wausau, including a 5-4 victory over Holmen's Wyatt McCutcheon. It was one of just two Tomah victories in the Holmen match.
Dawson Lambert and Nate Boulton both posted 4-1 records at Wausau.
Tomah was without Edgar Rodriguez, who was injured during his 285 bout against Mauston. He was replaced in the varsity lineup by sophomore Hayden Larson.
