Lavon Paulson, 94, passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Vernon Manor in Viroqua.

Lavon was born Nov. 14, 1922, in Dodgeville, Wis., to Wilbur and Kathryn (Schwingle) Berryman. After graduating from high school she continued her education until earning her masters in education. She was united in marriage to Orrin Paulson in Highland, Wis., Aug. 10, 1946. Lavon taught business education for 28 years, of which, 19 years were at Westby High School.

She is survived by three sons, Richard (Cindy) of Westby, Jon (Georgia) of Edgerton, Wis., and James (Debbie) of Waunakee, Wis.; as well as nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Donald Berryman of McFarland, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin; a son, Douglas and his wife, Judi; and her parents, Wilbur and Kathryn Berryman.

A funeral service celebrating Lavon’s life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Viroqua. Pastor Yvonne Marshall will officiate with burial in the Viroqua Cemetery following the service. Friends may call during a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. one hour before the service.

In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Lavon’s name.
