Linda Victoria Schmieder was called home to be with her heavenly father. She departed suddenly from this earthly realm Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017.

She was born to Leonard P. and Elreda E. (Fischer) Schmieder April 17, 1959, in Tomah. Linda was baptized at St. Mary’s Church and stayed loyal to her Catholic faith to the end. She graduated from the Tomah Senior High School in 1977. Linda’s search for the perfect life led her to many places and working various jobs. Everything from ranch work, factory work, to professional seamstress. This road of life eventually led her to De Soto, where she found her retreat on a beautiful bluff side overlooking a peaceful farming valley. She was able to maintain living there with much help from her longtime dear friend, Brian. At a young age Linda had a love of horses, which led to her involvement in high school rodeo, with everlasting memories. Although she had not ridden in a number of years, she still proudly displayed her saddle in her home. In her memory, Linda’s beautiful “mane” of hair was donated to locks of love. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by the joy of her life, her daughter, Lindsey Veronica; and beloved granddaughter, Skyelar Jayde Midtlien; her rescue cat, “Marbles”; special friends, Brian and Dan; her siblings, Elreda Ann (Stan), Jerry, Pat, Kathy (R. Bruce), and Sue (Vic); nephew, nieces, and cousins.

She preceded in death by her mother, Elreda; and father, Leonard “Pat” Schmieder; and her dogs, Ginger and Nacho.

A prayer service was held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St., Tomah. Monsignor Richard Gilles presided. Relatives and friends called from noon until 1 p.m. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Online condolences may be sent to www.sonnenburgfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be directed to Linda’s daughter, Lindsey.
