Ora Lee Sova, 69, was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, March 13,  2013, surrounded by family at her home in Stoddard. She had been battling cancer since January.
Ora was born in De Soto to Richard and Iona Seymour. During childhood, the family moved to California where Ora would graduate from high school and pursue a career in real estate development and building. Here she married Lyle. R. Sova and together they built a family, complete with two daughters, Laurie and Toni.
Ora and Lyle retired to Colorado, where they spent many years enjoying the great outdoors. They were active members of the Gold Wing Road Rider's Association, seeing the world by motorcycle. They also provided snowmobile and ATV tours to friends, family and visitors alike.
After Lyle passed away, Ora returned home to Wisconsin. She's spent the last two decades surrounded by family, including her five siblings. Ora owned and managed the UPS Store in downtown La Crosse. She enjoyed many special trips with her sister, her daughters and her grandchildren and was a generous hostess to countless family events and gatherings.
Ora was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Iona (Hickok) Seymour; her beloved husband, Lyle R. Sova; infant grandchildren, Chelsea Glenn Corfee and Joseph Lyle Pavela; and son-in-law, Joseph F. Pavela.
Ora is survived by her two daughters, Laurie (Pavela) Pass and husband Robert and Toni Sova-Corfee and husband Bartley; four grandchildren, Katelyn and Brenden Corfee and Kyle and Hope Pavela and three step-grandchildren, LaSarha, Bobby and Casey Pass; five siblings, Glenda Seymour, Richard Seymour, Doug Seymour, Conrad (Sharon) Seymour and Toni (David) Felde, all of Stoddard; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were  Saturday, March 16, 2013, at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chaseburg. The Rev. Steven Oldre officiated with burial in Walnut Mound Cemetery, Retreat. Visitation was at Seland Funeral Home in Coon Valley on Friday evening. Gifts in memory of Ora Sova can be given to Vernon Memorial Hospice Program, 507 S.
