MUSCODA, Wis. — Shirley Ann Sordahl, 69, of Muscoda died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017.
Shirley was born March 22, 1948, to Selmer and Eleanor (Lawrence) Sordahl in Viroqua. Shirley enjoyed spending time with Mom and with family. She was a rare Badger in so much as she actually enjoyed shoveling snow. Shirley was an excellent embroiderer, especially enhancing many, many pillow cases. She also made latch-hook items. She was particularly fond of the time she spent at the Opportunity Center, whether it was working or socializing with the people there. She also worked at Country Kitchen and enjoyed waitressing. Her favorite time of the year was her annual trip and vacation to “Camp Courageous,” which is today’s “Wisconsin Badger Camp.”
Shirley is survived by her siblings, Martine Sordahl, Palmer (Amore) Sordahl, Alvin (Betty) Sordahl, Carol Sordahl, Rachel (Brad) Gritths, Sheryl (Richard) Chaney, and Randy Sordahl; and 17 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and nephew and nieces, Larry and Lisa Jacobson and Mary Hughes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the Vosseteig-Larson Funeral Home in Viroqua. Pastor Bob Lawrence will officiate with burial to follow in the Viroqua Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. till the time of service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials are preferred.
