Four people were injured in a three-vehicle accident at about 2:02 p.m. Dec. 31 at the intersection of Hwy. 14 and Hwy. 61 in the village of Readstown.
A vehicle driven Ashley R. Ingle, 17, of Gays Mills, was going west on Hwy. 14, making a left turn onto Hwy. 61 south. Ingle turned into the path of another vehicle driven by Gina Howell, 46, of Readstown. After the collision the two vehicles went out of control and collided with a third vehicle driven by Jeffrey Geary, 62, of rural Viola. Geary was stopped at the stop sign on Hwy. 61, according to the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
Ingle and her two passengers received minor injuries, and refused medical treatment at the scene. Howell was transported by Readstown EMS to Vernon Memorial Healthcare. Geary and his passenger reported no injuries. All occupants were wearing seat belts.
Readstown Fire, Readstown EMS and Vernon County Highway Department assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
