During the month of January our Viroqua Area Foundation Community Art Wall is featuring the work of artists from the VIVA Art Gallery in downtown Viroqua. The show is a mix of work from 18 different local artists. We are looking for artists to display their work on our art wall or inside one of two locked display cabinets this year. Even if you have an interesting collection you would like to share with the community we would love to feature your items! Please give us a call or stop by our circulation desk for an application.

With more than 40,000 items available for checkout inside our library, choosing an item to take home can be overwhelming. To help narrow down the choices we have created a “Staff Picks” table in our adult library. The items on the table are being recommended because they have been read, listened to, or viewed and enjoyed by at least one member of our library staff. Checkout a “Staff Pick” and let us know if you enjoyed it too.

Coming up next week is our monthly dance party in the program room. Join us from 10:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, for 30 minutes of dancing. This event is geared toward children 6 and younger. Want to know what else is going on in our children’s department this month? Stop by and pick up our calendar of events or check out the complete calendar on our Facebook page.

The Friends of the Library Bookstore is currently offering a wide variety of puzzles for sale. The puzzles are located on a special table and are priced to move quickly. Shop early for the best selection. The bookstore accepts donations year-round of puzzles, books, DVDs, music CDs and magazines to sell. You can drop off your donations anytime the library is open. The sale of items in the store supports programs and services offered by the library.
