Kind anticipates constituents will have questions about administrative changes made to the Affordable Care Act. He said people planning to purchase coverage through the exchanges must enroll by Dec. 15 or risk not having coverage in 2018 and triggering a tax penalty.

“It is important to me and to my office that we are always available and working to help the residents of central and western Wisconsin,” Kind said. “As Wisconsinites begin to take advantage of the open enrollment period to get health care coverage or make changes to their current health care plan, I hope people utilize my office to access resources and ability to get in contact with the right person to help them sign up and get covered.”

Kind said his staff can assist people having issues dealing with the ACA open enrollment process, as well as with the Department of Veteran Affairs, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, Immigration and Naturalization Service and other federal agencies.
