The Viroqua School Board approved a bid to have work done on the bus garage parking lot at its regular meeting, Monday.
The School Board approved the bid from C & C Landscaping for the project in the amount of $195,472.
Board members also approved a bid from Deml Controls to replace the elementary school’s heating and cooling controls which were originally installed when the building was constructed in 1995. This major project will result in a more responsive, accurate and efficient system for controlling the heating and cooling of classrooms, offices, entryways and common areas. Three bids were received for the project ranging from the low (accepted) bid of $148,026 to high of $199,100.
At Monday’s meeting the School Board also accepted the following donations in the amount of $10,235.17: Viroqua Athletic Booster Club $1,000 boys basketball uniforms and $1,000 sting mat and vaulting board (gymnastics); and Condon Oil Co., Inc. $500 for the high school science/math department.
In addition, board members approved the appointments of Jessica Loven, physical education teacher, and Jason Hamm, eighth-grade girls basketball coach, and finalized the 2017-18 contract of Special Education/Pupil Services Designee Cathryn Poshepny.
