MIKANA, Wis. — Iris Marie Torgerson, 67, of Mikana died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at her home.
She was born May 19, 1950, in Viroqua, to Hjalmer and Marian (Onshus) Olson. Iris graduated from Westby High School in 1968, and was married to Dean Torgerson July 13, 1968, in Westby. They moved to the Rice Lake area, in 1974 and worked for Birchwood Manufacturers, McCain Foods, Wright Products and Nichols Homeshield. She loved to read, the Green Bay Packers, music and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Torgerson of Mikana; three daughters, Nancy (John) Nelson of Barron, Tammy (Brian) Steinke of Fall Creek, Wis., and Denise Holt of Rice Lake, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Kayla, Hannah, Austin, Jared, Tonja, Brady, Abby, Alyssa and Ellie; a great-grandson, Evan; two sisters, Ellen (Rolland) Hanson of Salem, Wis., and Julie Reed of Onalaska; a brother, Merton (Marilyn) Onshus of La Crosse; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hjalmer and Marian Olson; two brothers, Larry and Virgil Olson.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Campia, Wis., the with Rev. Chris Sesvold officiating. Interment was in the Church Cemetery. Visitation was held at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
