The Chaseburg Rod and Gun Club held its annual Youth Day, Saturday, Sept. 9. The day was open to children age 10 to 17, as well an adults with a desire to learn how to safely hunt.

Participants shot .22 caliber rifles, clay pigeons on the trap range, muzzle-loaders, and participated in archery events including hatchet throwing and bow and arrow shooting. The entire event was free and personal instructors were on hand for each event. The club provided the equipment and a free lunch was also served at noon.

The club is located at S1269 Sportsman Lane, Stoddard. The club was incorporated Oct. 16, 1946, as a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging all aspects of safe and respectful outdoor hunting and fishing activities, with a particular emphasis on youth.
