The following accidents were reported by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department for the week ending Sept. 11.

9-4 A vehicle driven by Laura J. Satterlee, Wonewoc, hit a tree in the road on Hwy. Q, town of Greenwood. She was not injured and the vehicle suffered minor damage.

9-8 Jacob D. Wolf, Hillsboro, was passing a truck and trailer owned by United Cooperative, driven by Steven J. Reed, Mauston. Wolf was passing Reed on the right at the intersection of Hwy. 33 and Hwy. HH, town of Hillsboro, and didn’t notice the truck and trailer were turning right. Wolf struck the tire of the United Cooperative trailer, causing damage to his own vehicle. There was no reportable damage to the truck and trailer. No injuries were reported.

9-11 There was one reportable car/deer crash Susan Humfeld, Chaseburg, on Schlicht Road, town of Hamburg.

The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is accepting donations for the Badger State Sheriff’s Association Sheriffs Adopting Sheriffs Program for the families of men and women of law enforcement in the Houston, Texas area. Donations will go directly to families of law enforcement impacted by the floods to aid them with their personal losses. Donations can be dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office, or mailed to 1320 Bad Axe Court, Viroqua, WI 54665.
