The following accidents were reported by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Department for the week ending Jan. 29.

1-22 Kathryn Davis, Lino Lakes, Minnesota, was traveling north on Hwy. P, town of Christiana. Davis lost control on the snow/ice covered roads. Davis crossed the centerline, went down an embankment, and struck a tree stump. No injuries were sustained.

1-23 Damon Widner, La Farge, was traveling eastbound on Sugar Grove Road, town of Kickapoo, pulling a gooseneck cattle trailer. Widner approached the crest of a hill, lost traction, and started sliding backwards, down the hill. The trailer slid into the ditch, pulling the truck with. Due to the steep embankment, the trailer twisted and damaged the box of the truck. The trailer was hauling three horses, which sustained minor scrapes and bruises, but appeared to be in good health. Widner and his minor passenger did not report any injuries.

1-23 Karlee Kreuzer, Chaseburg, was traveling west on Knoll Road, town of Coon. Kreuzer lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a corner, went off the roadway, and struck a tree. No injuries were reported.

1-25 Dennis Haltorp, Viola, was traveling southbound on Hwy. 131, town of Liberty. Haltorp swerved to miss striking two deer in the roadway. The vehicle traveled into the ditch, and struck several trees. Haltorp reported no apparent injuries at the time of the crash.

1-26 Valerie Knight, La Farge, was entering the intersection on Hwy. D, from a private driveway, town of Clinton. Knight did not see an oncoming vehicle, occupied by Devin Felten and Amanda Felten, Cashton. The vehicles collided at the crest of the hill. Amanda Felten reported a minor injury, but was not transported by EMS to the hospital.

1-27 Nathanial Schultz, Soldiers Grove, was traveling east on Hwy. S, town of Webster. Schultz was rounding a curve and lost control on the slippery road. Schultz crossed the centerline and sideswiped an oncoming vehicle, driven by Gabriel Williams, Viola, and his passenger, Kimberly Frederickson, Viola. No one reported any injuries.

1-29 There were two reportable car/deer crashes: Mark T. Anderson, Westby, on Hwy. Y, town of Jefferson; Mara Halverson, Ettrick, on Hwy. 27, town of Christiana.
