The Vernon County Sheriff’s Department reported its first fatality for 2018. A single vehicle accident on Jan. 31 resulted in the death of Bradley L. Sisbach, 40, of rural Viroqua.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Co. K, near Hamburg Ridge Road, in the town of Hamburg. Sisbach was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Co. K when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. He was not wearing his seat belt when the crash occurred and was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Vernon County Coroner’s Office.

Assisting the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office was the Coon Creek Fire & Rescue, Tri-State Ambulance, and the Vernon County Coroner’s Office.

The accident remains under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and the Vernon County Coroner’s Office.
