Westby (2-5, 1-2) traveled to G-E-T (4-0, 4-0) on Tuesday, Dec. 19 for Coulee Conference action and the end result was not favorable for the Norsemen. The Red Hawks swooped in fast and furious putting up 43 points in the first half to Westby’s 13 point showing, creating a hole too deep for Westby to crawl back out of after the break as G-E-T went on to win 66-30.

The Red Hawks continued to dominate in the second half only allowing Westby to put up 17 points. G-E-T’s Chris Thompson was the only player from either team to hit double digits pouring in 27 points for the Red Hawks.

Bob Constalie, Westby’s head boys basketball coach said, Westby played a little better in the second half, but G-E-T is a good team and the Norsemen couldn’t stop G-E-T’s Chris Thompson who had a solid game inside and was perfect from the charity stripe.

Westby only managed 30 points in the game and spread the scoring between eight players. For Westby: Sam Strangstalien 7, Griffin Grass 3, Alex Gluch 2, Davontae Spears 4, Grant Dayton 4, Joe Armbruster 2, Ryan Daines 4, Garrett Dunnum 4.

The Norsemen made 12 of 31 shots attempted (38-percent), downed a pair from long range and made half of its free throws.

Westby hosted its annual holiday tournament Dec 28-29. The Norsemen travel to Royall on Jan. 2 and return to Coulee Conference action hosting Viroqua on Jan. 5.
