On Thursday, Dec. 21, Westby hosted Coulee Conference leader G-E-T/Mel-Min where the Red Hawks left their mark with a 61-9 win.
Westby forfeited three matches at 195, 220 and 285 giving G-E-T an automatic 18 points. Conor Vatland was the only Westby wrestler to win by fall with a 1:53 pin over Devin McCoy. At 126 pounds, John Lucas earned Westby’s only other points with a 12-6 decision over Daniel Slattery.

Rob Kirner the Westby Varsity Wrestling Head Coach said G-E-T has a full team, something many schools are not blessed with. The Norsemen are struggling to fill the upper weight slots, putting them at a disadvantage against full teams.
Westby participated in the La Crosse Center Bi-State Classic over the holiday break on Dec. 28-29.
They travel to Black River Falls on Jan. 5.
