Old Fashioned Christmas December 7, 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. A day filled with Norwegian holiday traditions! A variety of crafts for the family to create together, hunt for the Yule Log, sing and dance with traditional music, enjoy a holiday meal complete with homemade lefse, try the lefse bar, start your Christmas shopping in the gift shop, and end your day with a hand bell concert in the Benrud Chapel. It’s an event you won’t want to miss! Jolabokaflod Jolabokaflod is a tradition borrowed from our Nordic cousins in Iceland. Christmas Eve in Iceland is spent giving the gift of books, and then everyone enjoys their gifted books with mugs of hot chocolate all evening long. This year, our gift shop is once again filled with unique and wonderful books of all kinds! When you purchase a book at Old Fashioned Christmas, you’ll also receive a Hot Cocoa Cone containing everything you need to have a perfect cup of hot cocoa with your new book! Final Rosemaling Workshop for 2019! New this fall, rosemaling workshops are an opportunity to learn, practice, and develop skill under the mentor-ship of Patsy Vork. Workshops are Tuesday evenings and/or Wednesday mornings; come to one workshop or attend them all...beginners through experienced rosemalers are welcome! Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m.: 12/10 Wednesdays, 9 a.m. - noon: 12/11 All workshops held at Norskedalen's Thrunegaarden Education Room. $15 per workshop per non-member; $10 per workshop per member Materials available to purchase.
