The season of Advent is often packed with family celebrations, concerns and other holiday commitments, making time for reflection on the true meaning of the season challenging. The Franciscan Spirituality Center, 920 Market St., La Crosse, is offering two low-cost Saturday-morning programs to help people slow down and prepare for Christmas in a spiritually meaningful way.
“Advent Morning of Reflection” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 6. Registration deadline is Nov. 21. Amy Taylor, FSPA, will lead a peaceful morning of reflection as participants explore the Promises of God in scripture.
FSC Director Audrey Quanrud will present “The Face: What Did Christ Look Like?” from 9 a.m. to noon Dec. 13. Registration deadline is Dec. 1.
The program will include excerpts from the documentary “The Face: Jesus in Art” and explore the questions, What did Jesus look like? and Would we recognize him today?
Cost for each program is $10. Call 608-791-5295 or visit www.FSCenter.org to register.
