Deer Crash

The Allen motorcycle was unable to avoid crashing into one of several deer as they crossed Hwy. P in Coon Valley.

A rural Cashton man received non-life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle accident on July 3 just before 3:30 a.m. The accident happened on Hwy. P just outside of the village of Coon Valley.

According to the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, Allen B. Grant, 60, was traveling west on Hwy. P when several deer ran across the road. Grant could not avoid them, striking one, and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet. Grant was transported to Gundersen Health System by Tri-State Ambulance.

The Coon Creek Fire Department and EMS also assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
