WEST SALEM — Donald “Don” George Gensch, 85, of West Salem passed away peacefully at Hillview Health Care Center, La Crosse, Monday, Nov. 6, 2017.

He married the love of his life, Gloria Zietlow June 2, 1962, and celebrated 55 years of marriage. Another proud moment for Don was when he was on the 13th flight with the Freedom Honor Flight, that he enjoyed very much.

Don is survived by his wife, Gloria; two children, Tammy (Thomas) Lee, Arlyn Gensch; grandchildren, Georgie and Samantha Gensch, Jessica and Brian Lee; brother, Larry (Bonnie) Gensch; sister-in-law, Lois (Milo) Wills; nieces, cousins, other relatives, classmates, and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 11, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, W3565 Cty Rd. M, Barre Mills. The Rev. Andrew Schultz will officiated. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Following the service military honors were rendered by the Berg Hemker-Olson, American Legion Post 51 of West Salem. Memorials may be given to the St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church or the Gundersen Cancer Treatment Center.

The family would like to thank oncologist and hematologist Dr. Lori Rosenstein, palliative care and the good care he was given at the Hillview Health Care Center.
