Silica sand is used for agriculture, roads and could be used as frac sand, but:

• Houston County has no active frac sand mines.

• Houston County has no applications for frac said mines.

• Houston County has a strong mining ordinance to regulate and control mining of sand and gravel but will not ban. The ordinance would eliminate large industrial frac sand mines.

We need to support our commodity businesses and regulate them.

We need to support land rights and our environment by regulation. We need to support all 18 county agencies for the good of Houston County.

Ken Visger is the new quarterback of the same old team.

Vote for Teresa Walter Nov. 6.
