OCALA, Fla. — It is with the deepest sadness that the families of Elizabeth and Michael Zeps announce their sudden and tragic deaths Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018, in Ocala, Fla.

Mick and Liz, as they were known most, have left behind a hole too large to fathom. Two beautiful children and countless family and friends are reeling from this devastating loss.

Liz was born in Montevideo, Minn., Feb. 2, 1980, Liz worked for years in the field of health care. Most recently as a registered nurse at Black River Falls Memorial Hospital, while their family lived in Cataract, Wis., then at North Florida Regional Medical Center starting in July 2017, after the family moved to Ocala. All who knew Liz knew her as a vibrant, fierce and beautiful soul. She was a dedicated nurse, who cared for not only her patients, but all the people in her life. Her work ethic and passion for nursing held true in her personal life. She was a marathon runner, kayak-er and triathlete. She was the life of the party, the positive and uplifting person you always wanted around.

Mick was born June 26, 1977, in Milwaukee. He worked nearly all of his adult life at Habelman Brothers Cranberry Co., alongside his brother, Chris. Mick was a quiet and contemplative man who supported his family tirelessly. Despite the circumstances that precipitated the ending of his own life and that of his beautiful wife’s, he was a loving husband, brother, son and father. His music and his laugh and his quirks will forever be missed.
