MELROSE — Jim “Jimmy” Bruce died at his home in Melrose Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018.

He authored his own obituary. He was born in Madison, Wis., and lived in Genoa City and Melrose, most of his adult life. Jim worked for United Airlines and was retired. He served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sister, Judy (John) Nyhus; nephew, Jim (Monica) Nyhus; nieces, Kris (Matt) Edmunds and Karen Nyhus; their children, Mari, Jonathan, Kara, Reed, Karl and Anna; cousin, Tom (Linda) Roegge.

The family has arranged a private ceremony. No memorials please.
