A local task force on child care is asking working parents to take an online survey to gauge the issues families face.

The survey is available on the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce’s website at www.blackrivercountry.net through June 14 and asks employees who are parents to provide their input through a series of questions.

The Jackson County Childcare Taskforce has been meeting to share concerns and look for solutions as the county continues to grapple with a lack of adequate and available childcare.

The survey’s questions will cover what child care options parents currently utilize, whether parents feel their children receive a balance of learning and recreation at their provider and if child care arrangements have ever interfered with parents’ employment.

The survey also addresses time spent dedicated to arranging child care, travel requirements and whether families prefer center or in-home options.
