Vehicle crashes into building

A car crashed into Rye Bluff Apartments last week.

No one was injured after a parking brake failure led to a car crashing into an apartment building.

The Black River Falls Police Department responded last week to a report that a vehicle crashed into Rye Bluff Apartments.

Officers learned that the vehicle had been parked on a hill in the adjacent parking lot. After the parking break failed, the car rolled backward down the hill, striking and entering the building.

Police Chief Kelly Bakken reminded the public that every vehicle is required to be equipped with parking brakes adequate to hold the vehicle on any grade on which it is operated.
