Ethan Anderson of Black River Falls has been selected to play in the 47th annual American Legion All-Star game Sunday, Aug. 4 at Miller Park in Milwaukee.

The game will be played following the major league contest between the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies. The Brewers-Rockies game starts at 1:10 p.m., and the estimated start of the all-star game is 5 p.m.

The players are also honored at a banquet the night before and breakfast the morning before the game in Wauwatosa, along with being announced on the field just before the game, where they stand for the national anthem.

Milwaukee is the only major team to sponsor a game of this nature, said Coulee Region American Legion Baseball League commissioner Craig Otto.

Anderson is one of eight Coulee Region players selected for the contest. Bud Larsen of Tomah and Erik Jones of Sparta are two of the game’s four umpires.

Other Coulee Region players chosen were Kyle Kroener of Tomah, Drew Becker of Holmen, Danny Garrity of Onalaska, Drake Coleman of Prairie du Chien, Greg Jacobs of Sparta, Dalton Burckhardt of Viroqua and Carter Bergdahl of Westby/Coon Valley.
