Mel-Min, Blair-Taylor and Lincoln all met in Alma Center for the Hornet Invitational last Thursday and the Mustang girls cross country team galloped away with another win.
Sydney Becker, Carrie Pfaff and Hannah Peterson took first, second and third for Mel-Min.
Just behind the trio was Macie Berg of B-T who took fourth overall, while teammate Thea McAdams took fifth.
The top ten was a back and forth of Mel-Min and B-T runners, but Lincoln’s Ashley Holmgreen broke through to come in at ninth place.
As a team, Mel-Min took first place, while Blair-Taylor took second overall for the girls.
On the boys side, fortunes were reversed as B-T took the top spot over the competition.
Preston Guttenberg helped that effort with his first place finish for the Wildcats.
Colton Sime of Mel-Min wasn’t too far behind him though and took second place.
The boys side had a mix of Wildcats, Mustangs, and Hornets in the mix as Ethan Breheim of Lincoln took fourth place overall.
The Lincoln team would come in second place overall just behind Blair-Taylor.
The Mustangs and Wildcats would next head to the Chileda Classic hosted by Onalaska Luther Monday.
This time the Mustang girls would take second behind Aquinas.
