Mustangs overwhelm Pirates 52-36

Calette Lockington trips up C-FC's Karen Sharlau while trying to force a turnover in Saturday's Dairyland Conference game. Melrose-Mindoro won 52-36.

Despite the exciting games between the Pirates and Mustangs last season, C-FCs trip to Mel-Min was much more lopsided in the Mustang’s favor last Saturday as they won 52-36.

Erika Simmons led the scoring for the Mustangs with 16 points on 5-of-12 shooting.

Calette Lockington dropped in 13 points, while Emily Herzberg added 11.

The Mustangs had 35 rebounds during the game including Simmons with an impressive 12 boards followed by Herzberg with 10.

Herzberg also led the assists category with three and was joined by Katie Christopherson with three steals apiece.

Mesa Byom led the team with three blocks against the Pirates.

The Mustangs are now 8-0 overall and lead the Large Dairyland Conference.
