Arline Weatherford, 93, passed away peacefully at Serenity House Friday, Sept. 1, 2017.

She was born in Elroy, Wis., Aug. 23, 1924, to Ida and Arnold Ladwig. She graduated from Elroy High School. Following graduation, Arline worked as a civil service employee at Camp McCoy.

Arline married Army Captain Dr. Floyd Weatherford in April 1944, at Post Chapel #1 at Camp McCoy. Arline and Floyd settled in Tomah, where he practiced dentistry for 40 years. Arline was a member of the First Congregational Church, where she served as a volunteer in many capacities.

Arline is survived by two daughters, Sharon (William) Bennett of Garland, Texas, and Susan (Julian) Cheney of Punta Gorda, Fla.; five granddaughters; seven great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; two sisters; a niece; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Floyd Weatherford in 2007; her parents; and brother.

Private family graveside services are pending. Memorials may be given in Arline’s name to Serenity House, 601 Straw Street, Tomah, WI 54660. The Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah is assisting the family.
