Karen Kay Steinmetz, 76, formerly of Kenosha, late of Mission, Texas and Portage, Wis., passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at her residence.

She was born July 24, 1941, to the late Gilbert and Virginia (Yonkey) Storkel in Tomah. She was educated in the schools of Tomah.

On Aug. 12, 1961, she married Robert Steinmetz Jr.

Karen enjoyed baking, crafts, embroidering and crocheting.

Karen is survived by her husband, Robert; her sons, Scott J. Steinmetz of Kenosha, Wis., and Brian D. Steinmetz of Powers Lake; her brothers, Gary L. (Joanne) Storkel and Robert (Madeline) Storkel, both of Tomah; and her six grandchildren.

A memorial service for Karen will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Best Western, 1017 East McCoy Blvd., in Tomah. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday.
